A new Young Hunt Staff Award will be introduced for all local foxhound and beagle packs at the 2017 show. The Award is open to packs to nominate a young person who may be employed or may be a volunteer, but who plays an active role in the hunt. The award is designed to encourage young people to play an active role in the hunt and may even enter a career in hunt service.
We would ask Masters and Huntsmen should consider their prospective nominees before the end of the current season.
Nominees should not have attained their 25th birthday on 1st May.
The nominees will be judged by a panel and the winner will be announced and a presentation made at the show.
The winner will receive £100 cash prize, kindly sponsored by Sir Nicholas Soames, and a hunting horn, kindly donated by Henry Keat/Calcutt & Sons.
Please submit details of your nominees to the Hound Show Secretary no later than 12th May. Entry forms can be downloaded below. Entries should include a citation, along with name, age, name of hunt and contact details.
Entries are invited from eligible local foxhound and beagle packs whose kennels are in Essex, Hampshire, I.O.W, Surrey, Sussex, Kent, the old county of Berkshire or Wiltshire.
